In order to comprehensively and deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening and improving the work of the united front and the "Regulations on the Work of the United Front of the Communist Party of China", further improve the level of the college’s united front work, strengthen contact and communication with non-party intellectuals, and give full play to the positive role of non-party people in promoting the development of the college, better gather the strength of common struggle, and help the college develop with high quality, the college party committee held a symposium on the united front work in the fall semester of 2024 in the D402 conference room of Tongbo Building on the morning of October 24. The college leadership team, various democratic parties, the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, returned overseas students, and full-time organizers of the college attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhou Min, secretary of the college party committee.

At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Zhou introduced the main achievements of the college since its establishment in 2022. She mentioned that since the establishment of the college, under the guidance and help of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee of the school, all non-party members of our college have actively participated in politics, made suggestions, and fulfilled their duties, giving full play to the party's role as " good advisers, good helpers, and good colleagues " . The college presents a good situation of " unity, progress, pioneering, and innovation " . The advancement of the college's work and the achievement of various achievements are inseparable from the firm support and hard work of all non-party members. Secretary Zhou expressed her sincere gratitude on behalf of the college party committee for their hard work, and hoped that everyone would continue to work hard and continue to care about and support the development and construction of the college.

During the exchange session, participants spoke freely and reported on the achievements and difficulties in self-construction, serving the development of the school, making suggestions and providing social services. They conducted in-depth discussions on the reform and development of the school, the cultivation of top innovative talents, the path of political participation and consultation, and the development of the united front work of the college. Everyone expressed their gratitude to the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee of the University and the Party Committee of the College for their care and support, and expressed that they will continue to listen to the Party, be grateful to the Party, follow the Party's lead, work hard to strengthen their own construction, give full play to their professional and academic advantages, actively spread the voice of XWC, and better participate in the construction of various undertakings of the school and the college.

After carefully listening to the speeches of the participants, the college leadership team unanimously stated that the suggestions put forward by non-party members are highly targeted and feasible, and the college will actively absorb them. For the difficulties encountered by everyone, they will also actively study and implement them one by one. At the end of the meeting, Secretary Zhou emphasized that under the new situation, the college party committee has always placed united front work in a more prominent position. The next step will be to carry out activities in innovative forms around the college's central work, provide ideological guidance, gather strength for progress, and actively build a platform for non-party members to make suggestions, participate in politics, and democratic supervision, and provide diversified channels. At the same time, it is also hoped that all democratic parties and non-party members will take the initiative to strengthen ideological and political construction, work together with the college party committee, and jointly create a good atmosphere of unity and struggle to help the college create a new situation of high-quality development of its cause.
